Spin testing solutions
Precision right from the start thanks to meaningful centrifuge analyses. Schenck's centrifuge solutions examine rotating components in a centrifugal field and are essential for development, manufacturing, and quality assurance in industries such as e-mobility, aerospace, engines, turbines, fans, and automotive components.
Efficient prevention of rotor deformation Centrifugal forces can deform rotors and cause imbalances and vibrations. In the worst case, they can lead to permanent damage or even cause the rotor to burst. By conducting tests in our spin test rigs, you can prevent complications – essential for the development, manufacture, and quality assurance of e-mobility rotors, jet engines, gas turbines, turbo compressors, turbochargers, fans, commutators, automotive clutches, and HSG grinding wheels.
Support every step of the way – from consulting to auditing Perfect your rotors with state-of-the-art technologies and customized services: Whether new development, further development, or quality assurance, we examine your test specimens using innovative analysis methods in our Green Technology Center. Perfect for development, pre-series testing, and random quality control.
Main areas of application
- Material strengthening by acceleration of the test specimen up to yield point of the material,
- Strength test with over speed as part of quality assurance,
- Burst tests of test specimen as part of new and further rotor developments,
- LCF tests (creep test) for the investigation of material fatigue,
- HCF testing of engine parts under operating conditions.

Dynamic Spin Rigs
Dynamic Spin Rigs are specialized test systems designed to simulate real-world operating conditions for rotating parts such as turbine disks, rotors, compressor wheels, and assembled bladed disks.
By subjecting components to high rotational forces, thermal cycling, and dynamic excitation, these test rigs allow for comprehensive evaluation of material performance, structural integrity, and vibration characteristics—long before components are introduced into field operation.
With a proven history of performance and reliability, our spin rigs are essential for development, validation, and research of the next generation of turbines, rotors, and structural components.

Customized spin & test equipment
We offer a comprehensive range of spin testing equipment designed to meet the needs of both research and production environments. Their burst rigs provide turnkey solutions for proof (burst) testing as well as over-speed (pre-spin) testing, with numerous customization options available to tailor the machines to specific requirements. Unique to Test Devices, their Dynamic Spin Rigs are capable of exciting resonant vibrations in fully bladed engine rotor stages. These rigs come equipped with integrated excitation, speed control, and data acquisition systems, enabling detailed vibratory characterization, damper evaluation, and high cycle fatigue testing programs.
Test Devices also provides high-performance fatigue rigs with rapid cycling drive systems that significantly reduce the duration of test programs, allowing for faster data acquisition. An optional crack detection system is available to monitor rotors during low cycle fatigue testing and halt the process before fatigue failure occurs. Additionally, Test Devices offers reliable direct drive systems ideal for vertical spin rigs and other test rig configurations, engineered to deliver outstanding performance and dependability. To support customers with existing spin test equipment, the company supplies upgrades and replacement parts, maintaining critical spare parts in inventory to ensure minimal lead times when they are needed most.
