Fundamentals of Balancing is designed to give those less interested in theory and design the practical skills to increase balancing efficiency and streamline production. Hands-on exercises will be used extensively to improve the operators technique on both balancing machine and instrumentation.
After a brief overview of basic theory that includes the principles of machine operation, tolerance specifications and machine setup, students will be divided into small groups with those that have similar equipment and applications. Service technicians and engineers will then supervise a number of exercises on machines and instruments that closely resemble the students' equipment.*
Other topics include:
*Since instruments and machines will be selected to closely represent the attendees' equipment, please specify balancer make, model and instrument with application.
Certification:
Level I- Balancing Operator
Locations: Onsite, Online, Portal
This course provides a practical approach to balancing. By combining balancing theory with hands-on session, attendees receive a solid and well-rounded foundation to apply to their jet engine balancing applications.
The course focuses on defining and identifying the different types of unbalance from both theoretical and practical approaches, proper balancing machine setup and operation, improving unbalance correction methods, and reducing errors during the balancing process.
Topics include:

Our Balancing Theory and Applications seminar has become a very popular program because it provides an excellent combination of universal balancing theory and practical hands-on training. Regardless of your background or previous experience, this program will expand your understanding of the balancing process and improve your balancing skills.
We begin by developing a basic understanding of the balancing process. You'll learn the design principles of different balancing machines, how to use instrumentation and different tooling applications. You'll also learn balancing theory including the various types of unbalance, methods of correction and measurements of unbalance. Demonstrations and hands-on exercises will give you an opportunity to practice the skills you've learned.
Other topics include:
Certification:
Level II-Balancing Technician
Locations: Onsite, Online
This course provides an in-depth look at jet engine balancing and builds upon the foundation laid in the Fundamentals of Jet Engine Balancing course. This course combines lecture and hands-on instruction focused on the theories behind jet engine balancing.
Topics Include:
Jet Engine Process Flow
Engine design considerations
Tooling
Applications of balancing software
Calibration and performance testing
Vibration Analysis
Locations: Onsite, Online, Portal
Often used in succession to our Balancing Theory & Applications course, this program covers many similar topics in more detail. Universal balancing concepts are presented at a higher level with emphasis on rotor tolerances, high speed rotor balancing and practical design considerations to streamline production. You'll learn the theory behind rigid and flexible rotors and specific applications of ISO 1940 and ISO 11342. You'll also study the use of tooling on production applications, the potential error sources and how it can affect balancing tolerances. The selection of the appropriate balancing machine will be covered using real case studies as examples.
Other topics include:
Certification:
Level III-Balancing Specialist
Locations: Onsite, Online
Accurate vibration analysis can be the most valuable maintenance tool available. When used properly, it can provide the necessary information to completely evaluate machine condition, identify symptoms to avoid ongoing damage, determine the cause of damaged components and offer a prognosis for remaining service life. It can mean the difference between maximum production efficiency and catastrophic failure.
We begin this two-day program studying the modern methods used throughout the industry to effectively evaluate machine vibration, how it effects equipment, and how to identify an unbalance, misalignment, or bearing problem.
Other topics include:
Three-day class including alignment and field balancing is available upon request.
Additional topics covered:
Locations: Onsite
Main Topics:
Target Audience:
Machine operators, foremen, development and design engineers, method engineers and production planners involved in processes in which universal balancing machines are used - both horizontal and vertical.
Number of participants
Depending on the type and number of balancing machines available and on the specific balancing task.
Following the training course, we offer you targeted on-site production support. Our experts support your employees directly at the balancing machine – in the real production environment. The aim is to put the knowledge gained in the training course into practice immediately and to confidently master typical challenges in series production.
Our production support ensures that training content leads to sustainable process improvements – efficiently, practically, and precisely tailored to your requirements.
