PFA - the test laboratory for balancing technology with worldwide unique competence
A milestone in balancing
In spring 2009, our PFA was officially accredited to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by the "Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle Technik (DATech)". We are therefore the first authorised body worldwide whose test methods and processes for the qualification of working standards of balancing technology and unbalance measurement and overspeed systems are accredited according to the latest metrological standards. On this basis, the PFA can issue certificates for corresponding test equipment and measurement systems which have to conform to applicable standards of balancing technology or similar documented procedures. The accreditation covers the following measurement parameters and standards: Geometry, mass, unbalance, speed and vibration speed.
In black and white - documented traceability
In addition to the optimised testing processes and minimised measurement uncertainty, the basis of our DATech accreditation is above all the documentable traceability of the measurement results to the relevant international SI units. All this is achieved by the technological centre-piece of the test laboratory: an extraordinarily accurate reference rotor developed specially for this purpose, which in combination with a high-precision reference machine serves as the reference standard for the measurement parameter of unbalance.
